RICHARDSON, Texas – Playing in the American Southwest Conference Tournament semi-final match for the first time in 16 years, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team was unable to come away with an upset as they fell 3-0 to Hardin-Simmons University. ETBU finishes the 2021 Spring CoVIDA season at 6-2-2.
 
ETBU had 12 shots in the game with four being on goal. Nine of ETBU's shots came in the second half. Kibriana Bonner, Jenna Kucera, and Ashleigh Rondon each recorded two shots as Kucera (2), Rondon, and Kennedy Voldan had the shots on goal. Claire Montondon recorded four saves in goal. 
 
ETBU's semi-finals appearance is the furthest the Tigers have gone since 2005 and first winning season since 2017's 13 wins.
