BELTON, Texas - Competing in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team fell in three sets to Concordia University Texas, 25-13, 25-18, 25-20. ETBU ends their season with an 8-10 record
ETBU's top offensive performer was
Hope Shipp, who compiled six kills.
Claire Johnson finished with nine assists and five digs while
Lillie Hill produced 12 digs.
Allie Fennell and
Ainsley Reeve each had four kills.
The first set started close with both teams trading 10 points each. After that, the set belonged to CTX, who went on a 15-3 run to win 25-13. The second set started with another exchange of points. With the score tied at six, the Tornadoes went on an 8-0 run to lead 14-6. ETBU would manage to get to within 21-15 before CTX finished out 25-18 winners. The third set saw ETBU match up with CTX throughout the set and tie at 18-18. CTX, though, would go on a 7-2 run to end the set and take the match.

ETBU finishes with eight wins in the CoVID-19 spring season and was ranked as high as 12
th in the nation. They started off the spring 5-0 and swept three matches in the year.
