ABILENE, Texas – Playing in their fourth American Southwest Conference semi-final match in the past five years, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis season came to an end falling to Hardin-Simmons University, 5-0. ETBU ends their season at 10-5.
HSU took all three doubles matches to start with a 3-0 lead.
Elisa Kendall and
Maddi Davis had the best chance for a point but fell, 8-6, at #1.
Kelsey Roberts and
Faith Kirk then fell, 8-3, at #3 and Corrin Hall and
Ashley Schenck lost the #2 match, 8-2.
Two more points came quickly in singles play for HSU. They won #6 singles as
Syvoney Ybarra fell to McKenna Bryan, 6-0, 6-0. They then earned the fifth point when Laruen Schaeffer defeated
Cassidy Wilcoxson, 6-0, 6-1, at #3 to end the match.
ETBU has now won 10 or more matches in four of the last five seasons.
