WS | Battles to a Scoreless Tie

HOUSTON, Texas - Despite a 21-6 shot advantage for the game, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team came up with a scoreless tie at 0-0 to the University of St. Thomas (TX). ETBU is 3-1-1 overall after the tie.
 
Raegan Kappler led with five shots with two on goal. Brianna Mickshaw settled for four shots on the game while Sarah Ramos and Aaliyah Casas recorded three shots each. Claire Montondon only saw one save in 110 minutes of play.
 
The first half would be defensive as both teams prevented any scoring chances despite four shots combined between the two. At about the 34th onward, ETBU would see three scoring chances, which were all saved by UST's keeper Brianna Salinas. By the second half, the Tigers would control the tempo of the game as they would record 10 shots on goal while holding UST without one. ETBU threatened to score late with a few seconds left before Salinas made the critical save.
 
In the first overtime session, the Celts and Tigers both had shots that went over the net. By the final minute, the Tigers put up two great chances to win before time ran out. The second overtime saw ETBU hold UST to one shot while they put up four with no luck as the game ended scoreless.
 
The Tigers are back home on Sunday when they host Southwestern University at 2:30 PM.
