SHREVEPORT, La. - In their official home opener for the East Texas Baptist University ACHA Division III team, they hosted and defeated Northern Arizona University, 4-3. Then, on Sunday, the Tigers traveled to the Children's Health Star Center in Mansfield, Texas, to finish the job by sweeping the Ice Jacks with a massive 7-3 win.

On Thursday, Dante Petrini led the Tigers in points with two goals. The remaining two goals were scored by Austin Spears and Dmitrii Sergeev. Brenden Teczar was in goal for the Tigers shutting down 56 out of the 59 shots he faced.

On Sunday, Petrini led the team once again with three assists. Right behind him was
Cade Campbell who tallied two goals. Also scoring for ETBU included:
Hunter Dorram,
Camden Restivo,
Corliss Emery, Sergeev, and Nikolas Roudkovski. In net for the Tigers was Seth Daniel—stopping 37 out of the 40 shots on goal.

GAME 1: ETBU 4, NAU 3
 ETBU wasted no time getting on the board in their tilt against the NAU. Just 0:16 into regulation, Spears found the back of the net, unassisted, to get the puck going for the Tigers. Just 7:30 later, the Tigers had the powerplay advantage and Sergeev used it to advance their lead to 2-0 over the Ice Jacks. At 15:02, the Ice Jacks managed to score on Teczar pushing the score to 2-1. With just 0:09 left in the first, NAU scored the equalizer while on the powerplay to close the period out at 2-2.

The second period went by rather slow. Both squads were unable to find the back of the net as well as only drawing two penalties each.

The Ice Jacks lit the lamp just 5:40 into the third, taking the lead against ETBU at 3-2. Petrini said enough is enough and scored back-to-back goals—one with a one-man-advantage and one at even strength. Petrini's goals gave the Tigers a 4-3 lead and ultimately the win for the first game in their two-game series.

GAME 2: ETBU 7, NAU 3
 The Tigers kept the momentum going for game two against the Ice Jacks on Sunday afternoon. However, the Ice Jacks got on the board first 7:27 into the game. Just minutes later, 13:00 into regulation, Dorram caught the puck off of the stick of
Fisher Naumann and buried it in the back of the net to score the equalizer. Only 0:30 later the Ice Jacks went on the powerplay and scored once more to put themselves back in the lead, 2-1, to wrap up the first period.

ETBU stormed back into action to start the second period. Restivo scored another equalizing goal just 0:27 into the period, assisted by Petrini, to force a 2-2 game. At 5:10, Naumann fed the puck to Emery who scored to put the Tigers back in the lead 3-2. The Tigers tallied two more goals before the end of the second leaving Ice Jacks unable to find the back of the net resulting in a 5-2 lead for ETBU.

The last period started out a bit slower—going scoreless for the first 15:14. Fighting to stay in the game, NAU scored while on the powerplay to push the score to 5-3. Campbell responded just 0:29 later to further ETBU's lead to 6-3. Just 47 seconds went by before Roudkovski scored the game's final goal, resulting in a 7-3 and a sweep for the Tigers.
