ABILENE, Texas – For the first time in program history, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis program won a draw at the ITA Fall Regional Championships. ETBU faced strong competition in the three-day tournament winning the 'B' Draw doubles championship. ETBU also played into several semi-final matches at the tournament.
 
Head coach Drew Lambert said, "Having results like this is impressive for our program as we continue to move to the next level of competition. We had 10 players still in draws in day three of the regionals which has never been done for our program before. I am very excited for the future of this team."

Highlights

• First time to win any ITA men's draw championship as Bruno Brocanelli and Jake Gibson blanked Drew Gonzales and Andre Maltzahn from UMHB, 8-0
• Slade Austin lost in a super tiebreaker in the 'B' draw singles championship, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5, to Dennis Miller from Schreiner
• Zach Couch was a 'B' draw semi-finalist falling to Schreiner's Dennis Miller, 6-3, 6-2
• In the 'B' draw doubles semi-finals, Slade Austin and Carson Crow fell to UMHB's Drew Gonzales and Andrew Maltzahn, 8-7 (2)
• Doubles 'A' draw players Sam Black and Max Karseno lost in the quarter finals to Ashton Ellis and Oscar Roy (Southwestern), 8-4, who ended up winning the draw
