CONWAY, Ark. – Earning two wins on Saturday, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team had victories over Hendrix College and Evangel University. ETBU took a 5-4 decision for their second win of the year over Hendrix and then a 5-1 win against Evangel. ETBU is now 3-7 overall.

ETBU started off with a 2-1 lead in doubles play.
Gabbi Hammerbach and
Jayde Childress won, 8-5, for the first point.
Faith Kirk and Isabell Duarte then won #3, 8-5, for the second point.
In singles play, ETBU pulled out wins at #2, #4, and #5 for the win. Childress won at #2, 6-1, 6-3, for the third point followed by a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4. Duarte then won the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win for the fifth point.
ETBU 5, EU 1
Playing under doubles rules where you receive one point for whomever wins the doubles portions, ETBU won two of the three doubles matches for the first point of the match. Kirk/Duarte won 6-4 in the #2 match and then
Keelie Stamson and
Kylee Mixon won at #3 doubles, 6-0.
In singles play, Childress won at #2, 5-7, 6-1, 11-9, in a tiebreaker for the second team point.
Andrea Alvarez then won the #3 match, 6-1, 6-3, while Duarte took the #5 match, 6-4, 6-2, and Kirk at #6, 6-0, 6-1, to win the match.
Corrine Hall was up 6-1, 4-1, when the match finished.
ETBU will host Texas Dallas on Friday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m.
