MARSHALL, Texas – Hosting the University of Texas Dallas in the first American Southwest Conference East Division match of the year, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team lost, 9-0. They are now 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the ASC East.
 
Slade Austin and Randal Lemmon were the closest to a point in doubles at #2 as they lost, 8-6. Both the #1 and #3 doubles fell, 8-3.
 
Two close matches took place in singles for ETBU. Austin fell in at #2 singles, 7-5, 6-1, in a close first set before dropping the second set. Christian Dubec then lost the first set at #3, 6-0, but fought back falling in the second set, 7-6.
 
ETBU will play two community colleges in Texarkana, Texas, on Saturday at Texas A&M-Tekarkana.
