JACKSON, Miss. – Holding off Belhaven University, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team won their first American Southwest Conference East Division match, 6-3. ETBU is now 4-10 overall and 1-1 in the ASC East.
 
ETBU took a 2-1 lead out of doubles play heading into singles. Christian Dubec and Slade Austin won, 8-5, in the #1 match. Brycen Fears and Abraham Silva then won 8-2 at #3.
 
After falling at #1 and #2 singles to tie the match at three, ETBU won #3 through #6 to take the match. Austin won his #3 match, 6-0, 6-2, and then Parker Stewart had a 6-3, 6-3, win at #4. Matthew Fuhr pulled off a 6-2, 6-0 win at #5 and then Silva win, 6-2, 6-3, at #6 to finish off the match.
 
  ETBU will host the University of the Ozarks on Saturday, April 9, at 11:00 a.m. for their next match.
