MARSHALL, Texas – Upsetting the #19 West Region team, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team finished the regular season with a 7-2 win over the University of St. Thomas – Houston. ETBU is now 6-12 on the year.
 
ETBU opened up with a 3-0 lead in doubles sweeping through the beginning of the match. Christian Dubec and Slade Austin won 8-5 at the number one match. Abraham Silva and Brycen Fears then took the number two match, 8-4. Randal Lemmon and Tim Cooley then blanked their competition at the number three match, 8-0, for the third point.
 
Slade then won the number two match in a tie breaker, 2-6, 7-5, 10-7, for the fourth point. Lemmon gained a point at number three in default. Matthew Fuhr then won at number five, 6-3, 6-1, and Silva took the number six match, 6-0, 6-0.
 
ETBU will next play in the ASC Tournament this week.
