DAY 6/7 BLOG
Colby Dupuis (Ville Platte, La.)
Emily Watson (Canton, Texas)
Colby Dupuis and
Emily Watson, current ETBU graduate students, who both graduated in May 2022, share their reflections from the final two days of the TAME Golf trip to Scotland. The team is scheduled to arrive back in Texas on Friday night. Thank you for your prayers for the group as they used their God-given talents and abilities to minister to the people of Scotland.
"Today was our sixth day in Scotland as we woke up to much colder and rainy weather. We went into town as we were able to sight see and fellowship more with our teammates. We had lunch as a team before we played a round of golf on the Eden Course of St. Andrews," Dupuis said.
"After the round we made our way back to the cabins for a devotional and dinner, which was really special and Ms. Cheryl led us in a discussion on mental toughness, goals, and commitments, as we got to learn a lot about her faith journey throughout sports. Her story was an inspiring one of strength and courage, and it showed us all how nothing is unachievable without God and when we push ourselves our bodies can go to extreme limits. Another amazing day in Scotland and an awesome trip overall," Dupuis added.
"Thursday was our last full day here in Scotland and we began with COVID testing, which was required so we could return home, before we all got ready to go play our final round of golf. Our third and final golf course was at the Duke's Course, which is a part of St. Andrews and is a more traditional layout. After our round we ate dinner and then handed our prizes from our competition on the course. The night ended with gelato, fellowship, and lots of laughter," Watson said.
"Before we parted ways, Dr. Cheryl Wolfinger, Founder and President of International Sports Federation (ISF), gave the team a talk about mental health and what each one of us can bring to the table every day. As an athlete, life can easily catch up and throw some bumps in the road, but being able to stay strong in your faith, respond, and bring your energy everyday impacts you and those around you," Watson added.
This past week has been an amazing experience getting to serve the Lord with my Tiger family! It was an amazing experience getting to help those in need and grow in my family alongside my coach and teammates.
