DAY 3 BLOGĀ
Elizabeth Hardy (Mabank, Texas)
Elizabeth Hardy, a May 2022 ETBU graduate and four-year golf student-athlete from Mabank, Texas, provided a summary of the Tiger Golf team's day from Sunday, June 5.Ā
Ā
"Today was our third day in Scotland and we started off Sunday morning by attending St. Andrews Baptist Church in downtown St. Andrews for their Pentecost service. We were able to witness a baptism and worship with the congregation, as well as fellowship with members of the Church after the service. Ā This was a great opportunity to grow in our faith through fellowship with other Christians in another country.Ā The members of St. Andrews were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Ā Fellow church member Peter, who assits ISF with their trips in Scotland and throughout Europe, Ā took us on a tour around downtown St. Andrews and showed us many historical landmarks throughout the city, which included St. Andrews University, St. Andrews Cathedral, and the Old Course at St. Andrews, which is the first golf course ever created and the home of golf. Ā
Ā
After some sightseeing, several members of the team went and served at a Young Life event that a couple of churches were hosting at a local park. Ā We hung out with the youth and played games, served food, and listened to a message from leaders at Young Life International. Ā After the service we went and ate dinner at a local country club and walked the course we will be playing later this week. Overall, it was a great day and we are looking forward to serving the community, sharing our faith, and playing some amazing golf courses this week."
