MARSHALL, Texas – Competing at another national championship tournament, the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Bass Fishing team had two boats at the 2022 Strike King Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. Brayden Mercer and Corey Morris along with Kaden Proffitt and Cason Ragsdale.
 
It is the first national championship tournament for Mercer/Morris as they placed 16^th overall out of 120 boats. They just missed the final day of competition with a two-day total of 20 pounds, 11 ounces for 235 points.
 
Proffitt and Ragsdale came in 20^th place after a hard first day of fishing. They finished with 20 pounds, seven ounces. This was the second national championship this season that the two had competed with together.
 
ETBU will now wait for their fall season of competition to start in October.
