WBB | Week Long Road Trip Ends with Loss in West Texas

ALPINE, Texas – A week long road trip didn't end the way East Texas Baptist University wanted it to playing their third game in five days as they fell in West Texas to Sul Ross State University, 71-58. The loss ends the Tigers six-game winning streak and now are 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the American Southwest Conference.

Bridget Upton was the lone player in double figures with 15 points. Michaela James added nine points and led the team with seven rebounds. Kaia Williams also had seven rebounds. SRSU had four players in double figures as Marley Rokas led with 20 points.

The difference in the game came as SRSU scored 24 points off of ETBU's 25 turnovers and out rebounding the Tigers, 43-37. ETBU shot just 31 percent overall making just 25 percent from the arc and 73 percent from the line. SRSU made 36 percent from the floor, 38 percent from three-point land, and 61 percent on the line.
