In a thrilling one-point victory over McMurry, the East Texas Baptist University football team gained their third win of the year in a exciting win at Ornelas Stadium. A big part in the victory was special teams and Christian Piazza's outstanding performance in the punting game. The impact he made with his punting abilities not only earned him individual recognition but also played a crucial role in securing the victory.

Impactful Punting
Christian Piazza's precise punting skills proved to be a game-changer during the match against McMurry. With three of his punts landing within the 20-yard line, he continually pushed the opposing team back, placing them in unfavorable territory. These accurately placed punts created pressure and forced McMurry to work harder for their yards. Piazza's ability to control the field position limited the effectiveness of the opponent's offense, creating opportunities for the ETBU defense to excel.

Recognitions and Awards
Piazza's exceptional performance on the field did not go unnoticed. In recognition of his influential role in the game against McMurry, he was crowned the Dairy Queen of Marshall Special Teams Player of the Week. This accolade celebrates his dedication and talent, acknowledging the pivotal role he played in ensuring the team's success. Additionally, Piazza was also awarded the prestigious American Southwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. This recognition serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to perfecting his craft and his significant contribution to the game. He says, "Receiving these awards, it's a testament to the support and encouragement I've received from my coaches, teammates, and the entire ETBU community. It's a team effort, through and through, and I couldn't have achieved this without the incredible support system I have. It really means a lot to me to be recognized for my efforts and dedication to the game, it's a humbling experience."

Humble Gratification
When asked about his awards and recognitions, Piazza spoke with a sense of humility and gratitude. "It feels great to be acknowledged for my contributions to the team," he admitted. Beyond The Game: Dairy Queen Delights
Amidst the excitement of his achievements, we wanted to delve deeper into the personal side of Christian Piazza. When asked about his favorite item to eat at Dairy Queen as the Dairy Queen of Marshall Special Teams Player of the Week, he chuckled and replied, "Well, I've got to say, my favorites are the Blizzard treats. I love the variety of flavors they offer. My go-to is the Oreo Blizzard, but sometimes I mix it up and try new combinations too. And if I'm feeling like a burger, you've got to try their FlameThrower GrillBurger. It's got this spicy kick, a real explosion of flavor…and they serve it with these crispy fries that are just perfection. But, let's not forget about their classic Dairy Queen cone. There's just something nostalgic about it. It's simple, yet so satisfying. You can't go wrong with a good ol' vanilla cone on a hot summer day."

By skillfully controlling field position and placing the opposing team at a disadvantage, he played a pivotal role in the team's one-point victory over McMurry.
