DALLAS, Texas – In their final fall competition, East Texas Baptist University took on NCAA Division II programs at the Dallas Baptist Fall Classic finishing ninth of 14 teams. ETBU shot a three-round score of 890 (294-293-303) playing in the rain on the final day.
With the 890, ETBU came in front of Texas Dallas (298-288-306=892), Texas A&M International (295-289-309=893), Lubbock Christian (296-299-308=903), Regis (301-299-312=912), and South Dakota School of Mines (313-304-314=931). ETBU was just 32 strokes off of the top five (Texas Tyler-858) as Dallas Baptist shot an 844 (277-279-288) to win the classic.
Kip Childress and
Jack Sladek finished in the top 35 with over 90 players in the classic. Childress tied for 26
th with a 218 shooting a 71 on the final day (73-74-71). Sladek shot a 219 to tie for 32
nd with a 70 on day one (70-72-77).
Truit Steen rounded out the top 50 in 46
th place with a 223 (75-73-75).
Caleb Kesting was then 72
nd (76-74-89) with a 230 and
Tristan Fredrick was 82
nd at 237 (76-77-84).
ETBU will next compete in the early spring.
