WS | Season Ends for ETBU in ASC Tournament

BROWNWOOD, Texas – Taking on Howard Payne University three days after seeing them in the regular season finale, East Texas Baptist University came up shy of a post-season win falling to the YellowJackets, 1-0. ETBU ends their season at 5-5-6.
 
Both teams took 16 shots with seven on goal. Sarah Ramos and Olive Gallegos led the team with four shots each. Ramos also led with three shots on goal and Mallory Duncan had two shots on goal. Addison Funk and Cadence Tischler shared time in the box. Funk played the first half recording three saves and Tischler the second half with three saves.
 
The only score in the game came in the 30th minute of the game when HPU nailed a penalty kick for the 1-0 lead. Just before HPU scored, ETBU had shots on goal in the 27th and 29th minutes that were saved. Less than a minute after HPU scored, Duncan's shot on goal was stopped as ETBU had a great chance to tie the game. ETBU's fourth shot on goal of the period came in the 36th minute by Ramos. ETBU took four of their seven shots on goal in the half.
 
Only three shots on goal were taken by ETBU in the second half. Ramos started off immediately with a shot on goal in the 50th minute and then Katherine Vela took a shot in the 53rd minute but came up shy. The final shot on goal came in the 64th minute by Ramos as ETBU couldn't find the net to tie the game.
 
ETBU ends their in the ASC Tournament for the third time in four years.
