SALEM, Ore. – Taking a 5-1 decision over Willamette University in Oregon, East Texas Baptist University finished up their spring break trip at 2-2. They are now 9-5 on the year.
ETBU took a 2-1 lead in doubles winning the number one and three matches.
Addy Seward and Fernanda Ruiz Burkhart won the number one match, 8-5, as
Jayde Childress and
Grayce Malone earned an 8-2 win at number three.
Childress gave ETBU their third win at number two singles, 6-1, 6-1, and then Burkhart had a 6-0, 6-1 win at number five singles.
Maryam Sharafeldin was the fifth point as she won by retirement, 6-1, retirement, at number four singles.
ETBU will take on Howard Payne University on Saturday in Marshall, Texas, at Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex.
