LONGVIEW, Texas – Headed over to LeTourneau University for a single game vs. Southwestern University, #13 East Texas Baptist University shutout the Pirates, 12-0.
Ashley Croft recorded a no-hitter in five innings with four strikeouts. ETBU is now 5-1 on the year.
Croft faced 16 batters in five innings for the no-hitter walking one batter in the fifth inning. She retired the side in the first through fourth innings moving to 3-0 on the year.
ETBU recorded 13 hits and had 12 runs in the win.
Courtney White,
Tauryn Cummings, and
Marin Musicant each had two hits. Cummings led the team with three RBI while
Tristen Maddox and White added two RBI, and
Delanie Loya,
Corley Carpenter, and
Jalen Perez each had a RBI. Maddox and Musicant both had doubles, too.
Loya started the game with a RBI single in the first inning followed by six runs in the second inning for a 7-0 lead. ETBU added four more runs in the third making it 11-0 and then Perez finished off the scoring with a groundout RBI in the bottom of the fourth.
ETBU will player St. John Fisher on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in a double header at Bell Park at Taylor Field.
