MARSHALL, Texas – Academics continue to be a strong point for the East Texas Baptist University volleyball program as sophomore
Graycee Mosley has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American. Mosley becomes the third player to be named an Academic All-American. Along with this award Mosley,
Lillie Hill, and
Avery Reid were named to CSC Academic All-District team.
Mosley has a 4.0 grade point average in Bio Chemistry, is a two-time AVCA All-American, and a two-sport student-athlete also participating in track and field. She has been on the President's List, is in the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, on the ASC All-Academic team, and was the ASC's Female Distinguished Scholar-Athlete award winner for track and field as a freshman.
As a volunteer, Mosley has been involved in the Marshall, Texas, community since she stepped on campus. She has spent time helping the Marshall ISD with fall festivals, New Beginnings Church with their Back to School Bash, the Mission Marshall Grocery Night, and Tim Tebow's Night to Shine.
The two-time ASC MVP was the 2023 ASC Tournament MVP along with being named to the NCAA Division III Osh Kosh Regional All-Tournament team. In the past two years, she has been the ASC Player of the Week seven times and a two-time All-ASC first team and AVCA All-Region selection. This year, she recorded 19 double-doubles and in the NCAA finished fourth in kills per set (4.81), sixth in points per set (5.29), and 10
th in points (555). She became a member of the 500-Kill Club with 505 kills and had 347 digs.
Earning CSC Academic All-District for the second year in a row were Hill and Reid.
Hill is a four-year letterman and a four-time All-ASC selection making the first team in 2023. She was the 2023 ASC Volleyball Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year and the 2021 Spring ASC Libero and Freshman of the Year. The six-time ASC Defensive Player of the Week finished her career at third all-time at ETBU in digs with 1,855 and made the 500-Dig Club this season with 562 averaging 5.30 digs per set. She will also be a three-time ASC All-Academic team member and made the Dean's List.
Reid is a three-year letterman and three-time All-ASC first-team selection. She made the 2023 ASC All-Tournament team was the 2021 Fall ASC Freshman of the Year. She has been the ASC Offensive Player of the Week three times and has 13 career double-doubles. Currently, she is eighth all-time at ETBU in kills with 987 and posted a career-high 30 kills vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor on Oct. 14, 2022. She finished this season with 339 kills averaging 3.20 per set, had 46 serving aces, 174 digs, and 418 points (3.94 per set).
ETBU had their finest season in 20 years winning the ASC Tournament Championship, tying for the ASC Regular Season Championship, advancing to the NCAA Tournament, and upsetting #13 North Park in the NCAA Tournament. The 26 victories are the second most in program history as they also broke the program's win streak record with 13 straight wins. They were in the Regional Rankings all four weeks ranked as high as fourth.
