BELTON, Texas – Unable to find the shot needed to tie the match, East Texas Baptist University dropped a close American Southwest Conference match to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 1-0. ETBU is now 6-6-1 and 1-2-1 in the ASC.
 
ETBU had five shots in the match to UMHB's 14 putting only two shots on goal. UMHB had seven shots on goal scoring one. Joshua Daley had two shots with one on goal as Joel Garcia added one shot on goal. Ryan Lord recorded six saves with one goal against.
 
UMHB scored early in the sixth minute and then played solid defense the rest of the way for the win. Both ETBU shots on goal came in the second half as they only had one shot in the first half. In the 57^th minute, Garcia took a shot to the bottom left goal that was stopped. Daley then had the other shot on goal in the 77^th minute that fell shy of tying the match. Bryan Escalera had a look at the net with 24 seconds left but it went out left as the match ended, 1-0.
 
ETBU will play their fourth match on the road next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at 7:30 p.m.
