ABILENE, Texas – Playing in the American Southwest Conference Tournament semi-finals, East Texas Baptist University was unsuccessful in upsetting top seed Hardin-Simmons University, 4-0. ETBU ended their season 6-11-1 and was the no. 4 seed in the ASC Tournament.
ETBU struggled offensively, only taking four shots with one on goal.
Sarah Ramos accounted for two total shots and the only one on goal.
Makayla Baxter and
Michelle Medellin each had one shot.
Cadence Tischler finished with seven saves.
In the first half, Baxter was able to take a shot at 7:22. Almost five minutes later, HSU scored their first goal (13:28) and then made it 2-0 at 27:10.
HSU scored two more goals in the second half, with the third coming at 50:55. Ramos's shot on goal came at 51:04, and then HSU made it 4-0 in the 67th minute. The remaining shots from the Tigers were from Medellin (74:24) and Ramos (83:59).
ETBU has now made the ASC Tournament in four of the last five seasons.
