#TIGERSWIN | VB | Regular Season Ends for ETBU on a 25-Match Winning Streak

ETBU won two matches on Saturday over Rhodes College and Hendrix College.

CONWAY, Ark. – Ending the regular season on a 25-match winning streak, no. 10 East Texas Baptist University took two wins on Saturday at Hendrix College. ETBU won their first match over Rhodes College, 3-0, and then went five sets against Hendrix College, 3-2. ETBU is now 26-1 on the year and will host the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament next weekend.
 
Graycee Mosley tallied 27 kills and 24 digs on the day as Avery Reid had a total of 20 kills, Emily Millikan put up 18 kills, and Grace Williamson added 13 kills. Callie Humphrey led the team in digs with 43. Mackenzie Mansell recorded 42 assists and Lexi Moody added 32. Grace Williamson led the team with six total blocks.
 
ETBU 3, Rhodes 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-21)
Mosely led the way with a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs to sweep Rhodes in three sets. Reid finished the set with eight kills hitting .400, while Millikan and Williamson each had seven kills. Humphrey had 16 digs while Mansell handed out 15 assists and Moody contributed 12 assists. Williamson also recorded three total blocks.
 
ETBU hit a .243 in the match and a .273 percentage in the first set. Tied three, a quick four-point run off kills from Williamson, Emily Sitton, an ace from Moody, and an error by Rhodes made it 7-3 ETBU never lost the lead again. Up by three, 12-9, the Tigers would widen the lead with kills from Millikan, Mosley, and error by Rhodes to take a 15-9 lead. A kill from Rhodes would tighten the lead to just six 17-11, but a five-point run, that included two kills from Reid, would leave the Lynx in the dust 21-11. A final kill from Mosley would end the first set 25-14 for the Tigers. ETBU would go on to win the next two sets 25-13 and 25-21.
 
ETBU 3, Hendrix 2 (22-25, 25-14, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11)
To get the second win of the day, ETBU had to battle the Warriors in a tough five-set match for the win, 3-2. Mosley tallied 16 kills and 14 digs for her second double-double of the day. Reid put up 12 kills and Millikan added 11 kills with a .435 hitting percentage. Humphrey had 27 digs while Mansell gave out 27 assists and Moody contributed 20. Williamson recorded three total blocks.
 
After dropping the first set, 25-22, ETBU battled back in set two to tie the match, 25-14. Starting set two, a kill from Sitton and a error by the Warriors put the Tigers up 2-1. A kill from Williamson gave them a 4-3, but this lead was closed by Hendrix as they tied it at four. Both teams battled back and forth to tie to tie at nine with kills from Sitton, Millikan. An error by the Warriors would give the Tigers a three-point lead 12-9. An ETBU five-point run with two kills by Mosley, two aces from Humphrey, and an error from Hendrix made it, 17-10. The Warriors closed the led to just five 17-12, but a six-point streak of errors, three Mosley kills, and two Moody aces made it, 23-12. Williamson had the final kill of set, but an error would defeat the Warriors 25-14. ETBU would go on to win a close set 25-21, drop a set 18-25, and win ultimately 15-11 in the final set of the match to close out the regular season
 
ETBU will now host the ASC Championship Tournament on Nov. 15-16 in Ornelas Gym.
