MARSHALL, Texas – Splitting their matches on day two of the East Texas Baptist University Beach Volleyball Classic, the Tigers fell to Ottawa University in match one but bounced back with a win over Texas Wesleyan. ETBU is now 4-7 on the year.
ETBU had a tight match one with Ottawa (KS) falling, 3-2. Shelbe Adkins and
Madison McDonald won the no. 2 match, 21-17, 21-14 for the first point.
Nadia Brockway and
Mona Salgado then won the no. 3 match, 21-14, 21-10, for the second point. ETBU fell in three sets in both the no. 4 and no. 5 matches for the 3-2 loss.
Bouncing back in the second match, ETBU won matches no. 1 through no. 4 for the 4-1 win.
Callie Humphrey and
Bella Sigala won match no. 1, 21-11, 2-19 and then Adkins and McDonald won match no. 2, 21-12, 21-14. Brockway and Salgado made it 3-0 with a 21-17, 21-13 win at no. 3.
Sadie Blue and
Sofia Castillo then took the no. 4 match, 21-9, 21-18 for the 4-1 win.
