MARSHALL, Texas – Finishing up the Tiger Invitational on day two at 1-1, East Texas Baptist University on their final match of the day over Oklahoma Wesleyan, 5-0. ETBU is now 7-8 on the year and gone 6-2 in their last eight matches. In their first match of the day, ETBU fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 4-1.
Four of the five matches vs. OKWU were won in two sets with the first match of the day going into the third set.
Callie Humphrey and
Bella Sigala won at no. 1, 21-12, 21-23, and then took the third set, 15-11.
Madison McDonald and
Shelbee Adkins then won the no. 2 set with ease, 21-7, and 21-11.
Nadia Brockway and
Mona Salgado made it 3-0 with a win at no. 3, 21-13, 21-10. At the no. 4 match,
Peyton Fredrick and
Hannah Perry held onto the two-set win, 21-14, 21-19 and
Bailee Kitchen and
Kyleigh Pate made it a 5-0 sweep at no. 5, 21-9, 24-22.
ETBU will next play at the UMHB Tournament Mar. 28-29.
