MARSHALL, Texas – Planning all year for their biggest competition, the East Texas Baptist University cheer and pom teams are headed to Florida for the National Cheer Association (NCA) National Championships. This will be the second year in a row that ETBU will be at the national championships in Florida.
 
Last year, ETBU came in second in the "Game Day" competition for their division behind storied program Navarro College. It was the first time that ETBU had been at a national championship for cheer or pom in over 20 years.
 
ETBU will perform in the Bandshell on Daytona Beach on Friday, April 12, at 11:26 am. Eastern Time in the Game Day Open Division. Their two to three-minute routine will be on the Varsity TV at tv.varsity.com.
 
The Pom program is led by third-year head coach Ellen LeClair and the cheer program is under first-year head coach Hannah Hicks.
