LONGVIEW, Texas – Collecting their third American Southwest Conference East Division win, East Texas Baptist University won, 8-1, over LeTourneau University in men's tennis. ETBU is now 13-5 and 3-0 in the ASC East. With a 3-0 record, ETBU will face Texas Dallas on Saturday, April 20, at 3:00 p.m. for the East Division Championship.
 
ETBU took a 2-0 lead quickly in doubles winning no. 3, 8-1, first with Zachary Couch and Slade Austin. Erick Van Zyl and Jacob Daniell won the no. 2 match, 8-3, but LETU cut the lead to one, 2-1, with an 8-7 win at no. 1.
 
Cruising through singles play, ETBU took the match 8-1. Couch made it 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-4 win at no. 3. Sam Black then won 6-2, 6-0, at no. 2 and Max Karseno clinched the match for ETBU, 5-1, with a 7-6, 6-1 win at no. 1. Austin then took the no. 4 match, 6-1, 7-5, followed by win at no. 5 by Orren Ladner, 6-1, 6-1, and Van Zyl at no. 6, 7-5, 6-1.
 
ETBU will have two matches on Saturday, April 20, taking on Texas Lutheran at 9:00 a.m. and then UTD at 3:00 p.m.
