Centenary (23-18)
The Gents won the SCAC Tournament championship for the automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. They defeated Texas Lutheran, 9-5, coming through the loser's bracket for the championship winning three elimination games. It was their second SCAC title in three years.
 
Carson Livesay leads the team in batting at .372 and Alex Miller has seven home runs and 46 RBI. Cody Meyers has the top ERA at 2.13 in 88.2 innings pitched and 86 strikeouts with a 10-3 record. 
 

ETBU vs. Centenary
ETBU and Centenary have met 34 times last playing in 2023 in a mid-week series. They split the two games as ETBU won the first game, 7-5, in Shreveport, La., but then lost at home on April 25, 10-1. Centenary had a six game winning streak from 2020 to 2021 before ETBU won, 15-0 on February 6, 2022, in Shreveport. They have played 13 times in Marshall and ETBU is 6-7 at their home field vs. the Gents.

ETBU in the NCAA Tournament
ETBU has played 11 games in the NCAA Tournament all taking place last year posting a 7-4 record. ETBU started the NCAA Tournament going 3-1 in the Marshall, Texas Regional. They won, 16-6, over California Lutheran and then 9-4 vs. Trinity. Trinity then won the first game in the championship round, 8-6, before ETBU won the final game, 2-1, to advance to the Super Regional. The Super Regional brought a three-game series with La Verne in which ETBU won the first and third game. ETBU won the opening game, 9-1, before La Verne won game two, 9-8. In the final game, ETBU won 14-6, to advance to the championship tournament.
 
In the championship tournament, ETBU shocked the NCAA Division III world, drilling No.2 Salisbury, twice, 7-3, and 21-7. ETBU fell to eventual national champion Lynchburg, 8-3, in the first meeting and then 7-1 in an elimination game for ETBU.
