The final recap from the ETBU Men's Basketball TAME trip to Roatan is provided by Head Coach Chris Lovell.
"We started the day by going to worship together at our host family's church. It was great to be together to thank the Lord for all we have experienced.
After church, we ate lunch on the beach and enjoyed being together while some people played volleyball and others enjoyed the ocean. After lunch, we headed to zipline through the jungle. We had a blast on the zipline and even had a little altercation with a group of monkeys while in the treetops. Then we got to see a bunch of iguanas, birds, more monkeys, and the guys were able to take pictures with all of them.
To end the day, we went to a different beach to hangout and have some pizza while enjoying crab races and a fire show on the water. It was a great ending to such a life changing week!
Lastly, I want to say how thankful I am for our players. I have seen them grow in their relationship with Christ through all the experiences we have had together. Their character and how they have responded to many things outside their comfort zones has been outstanding to see. My prayer is that we would never be the same as a result of this trip.
I want to give a thank you to my coaching staff, Derek Alleman, JC Banks, Michael Van Gilder (our athletic trainer, and Reid Adams (our Assistant AD). They have all gone above and beyond for our players to have a great experience here. I am also thankful for ETBU and our president, Dr. Blackburn, and our Vice President, Ryan Erwin, for making these experiences a priority and a possibility. May we never grow weary in investing in the next generation. To God be the glory!"
