MARSHALL, Texas – Playing in their second straight NCAA Division III Super Regional, no. 4 East Texas Baptist University is hosting no. 12 Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.). This will be the second time these two teams have met as the 2024 season was opened on the same field between them in February.
ETBU brings a 39-8 record while the Sagehens are 35-12.

The Sagehens are one of the hottest teams in NCAA Division III right now winning 10 out of their last 12 and games. They scored 54 runs in a four-game series vs. Willamette in the Super Regional winning the final game, 24-10. Sweeping through the SCIAC Tournament, they won, 13-10, over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, defeated no. 1 seed La Verne, 15-0, and then took the championship, 11-6, over CMS. They have scored 93 runs in the post season averaging 13 runs per game.
Isaac Kim leads the team in batting average (.434), doubles (15), RBI (75), and home runs (16). JC Ng isn't far behind with a .428 average, 77 hits to lead the team, 12 doubles, nine home runs and 49 RBI. Eric Prough has the top ERA at 1.86 in 27 appearances and no starts with a 5-3 record. Hannoh Seo has 85 strikeouts and a 2.01 ERA with a 9-1 record. Jake Hilton is then 9-2 with a 2.59 ERA and 86 strikeouts.

ASC Tournament Champion
ETBU went 3-0 in the Marshall, Texas Regional Tournament for their second straight regional championship. They opened with a 5-2 win over Centenary followed with a 7-3 victory over Concordia Texas. A walk-off single then gave them a 6-5 win in the championship over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
ETBU has scored 44 runs in the post season averaging six runs per game. Six players are hitting over .300 in the starting lineup for ETBU.
Dylan Burnaman is leading the team in batting at .365 with 65 hits while recording eight home runs and 46 RBI.
Connor Massimini followed with a .356 average, 62 hits, 13 doubles and seven home runs with 43 RBI.
Jacob Evangelista leads the team with 19 doubles and has a .344 average, eight home runs, and 29 RBI.
Brett Wagner is hitting .331 with 59 hits, 13 doubles, 10 home runs, and 53 RBI.
On the mound, ETBU has a team ERA of 3.56.
Sayers Collins has a 0.99 ERA with 88 strikeouts and is 12-1 on the year.
Jagger Neely is 10-3 with a 3.31 ERA and 85 strikeouts.
Peyton Miller follows with a 3.38 ERA and 35 strikeouts.
Robert Croft leads the nation with 10 saves and has a 2.15 ERA while
Landry Powell has a 3.44 ERA in 13 appearances with 50 strikeouts.
Super Regional Appearances
This is the second Super Regional that ETBU has played in and in back-to-back years. They are 2-1 in the Super Regional Tournament with a win over La Verne last season. ETBU won the first game, 9-1, but fell on the next day in game two, 9-8, forcing a third game with a 14-6 win advancing to the national championship series.
