MARSHALL, Texas – For only the second time in program history, East Texas Baptist University has landed four players on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American teams.
Tristen Maddox and
Courtney White become only the fourth and fifth players at ETBU to be named three-time All-Americans. Earning their first All-American award are
Haylie Stum and
Hannah Benavides. The last time ETBU had four All-Americans in one season came in 2004.
Maddox and White join Jayme Perez (four-time), Lacey Lindsey, and Angela Gonzales as three-time All-Americans. Maddox becomes only the third player in program history to be a two-time NFCA All-American first team member joining White (2022, 2023) and Tonya Minor (2002, 2004). Stum is now the sixth freshman at ETBU to be named an All-American in her first season.
ETBU is currently 45-2 and playing in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament Series as one of the final four teams in the county. They will face Rowan University at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Maddox is now a three-time All-American joining an elite list in the program and on the first team for the second year in a row. She has earned three-straight All-Region awards making the first team, twice and second team, once. The 2024 ASC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and Player of the Year, she was the first ASC player to be named back-to-back Player of the Year since the divisions were combined in 2014. Named to the All-ASC first team for the fourth straight year, she is on the NFCA Players to Watch list, she was a 2023 Gold Glove team member and has been the ASC Hitter of the Week five times.
She leads the ASC in runs scored (60), hits (63), doubles (15), home runs (15), and RBI (55). At ETBU, she now owns the career record for doubles with 54. In the NCAA, she is also sixth in home run, ninth in runs per game, and 20
th in RBI. She is batting .450 in 45 games played with 44 starts and has 26 steals.

ASC Pitcher of the Week – 4 times
One of the best pitchers in the nation, Benavides was voted onto the NFCA All-American third-team. This is her second NFCA award after being named to the All-Region first team. At 16-0, she is the ASC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year with a 1.33 ERA. She has pitched in 89.1 innings in 17 games giving up just 17 earned runs with 45 strikeouts. Earlier this year, she threw a one-hit shutout over Birmingham Southern, 3-0, in seven innings on March 28 and gave up just one hit in four innings of a five-inning game vs. Ozarks. Against Christopher Newport on March 2, she recorded a career-high six strike outs.

Earning her fifth NFCA award this year, Stum becomes an NFCA All-American as a freshman making the third team. Other NFCA awards earned have been All-Region first team, National Hitter of the Week, All-Classic Team, and the Watch List. As an All-ASC first team member and Freshman of the Year, she leads the team with Maddox in hits at 63. Her .481 batting average also leads the team as she has started 42 games recording 25 runs, nine doubles, five home runs, and 45 RBI.

Becoming a three-time NFCA All-American, White has two first team and one second team award. The three-time All-Region and All-ASC first team member was the 2022 ASC Newcomer of the Year and been on the NFCA Players to Watch List, Top 50, and Top 25 Player. She has also been on the ASC and NCAA All-Tournament teams. This year, she is hitting .398 with 52 runs scored, 55 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, and 35 RBI. She leads the team with 34 steals which is second in the ASC and top 30 in the nation.
