NOTES
1,000 Kills
Senior Avery Reid and junior Graycee Mosley recorded their 1,000th career kill last weekend at the Trinity University Classic. Reid and Mosley also were named to the All-Classic team as Mosley gained the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Reid now has 1,030 career kills, as Mosley has 1,028. That puts them at seventh and eighth on the all-time list. Koco Trout (1999-2002) is the next player to catch, with 1,055 kills.

Looking at 100
Head coach Mallory Matthews has 99 career wins after going 2-1 last weekend at the Trinity Classic. In two years at ETBU, she has earned 48 wins, going 48-12 so far, including the first three matches of the year. She started her career at LeTourneau University in 2019, coaching three seasons, going 51-30, turning around a struggling program. She finished in the top tier of the ASC each year.

Last year, she guided ETBU to their first ASC Tournament Championship in 20 years and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament. She also tied for the ASC Regular Season Championship.

Nationally Ranked
ETBU moved into the AVCA Top 25 National Poll for the first time in 22 years. The Tigers were ranked during the COVID-19 season, but not all teams played that spring 2021 season. ETBU moved into the 25th spot after going 2-1 at Trinity. They took then-no. 8 Trinity University to five sets before falling in the fifth set. They were ranked for four weeks in 2002, reaching as high as 23rd.

15 is the Number
ETBU is 15-0 at home in the past two seasons. They won their final two home matches in 2022 and went 13-0 last year in Ornelas Gym. The longest win streak in Ornelas Gym is 18 matches, set from 2012 through the 2014 season. ETBU went 4-0 in 2012, 5-0 in 2013, and 9-0 in 2014 to set the home match record.
