MARSHALL, Texas – Setting a new record with a 19-match home winning streak, no. 25 East Texas Baptist University took two more victories on the weekend at the Tiger Invite. ETBU shut out both Willamette University and Hendrix College, 3-0, to move to 6-1 on the year.
ETBU's 19-match home winning streak dates back to the final two matches of 2022. It went 13-0 in 2023 and started 4-0 in Ornelas Gym this year. This streak breaks the 18-match winning streak set from 2012 through 2014.
Five players recorded double figures in kills as
Graycee Mosley led with 25.
Avery Reid added 16 kills,
Anita Hancock 14,
Hannah Perry 11, and
Grace Williamson with 10 kills.
Lexi Moody recorded 32 assists, and
McKenzie Mansell had 31 assists.
Callie Humphrey added 29 digs, Mosley had 20 digs, Williamson led with eight blocks, and Hancock had seven.
ETBU 3, Willamette 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-15)
ETBU's defense held Willamette to a .054 hitting percentage, recording 46 kills, which tied the home winning streak to 18. Mosley recorded 14 kills and seven digs with two service aces.
Avery Reid then posted 10 kills and seven digs. Both Mansell and Moody added 16 assists, and Humphrey recorded 19 digs.
There were eight ETBU service aces on the day, while Reid had three.
ETBU 3, Hendrix 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-18)
ETBU kept up their strong play on the weekend, breaking the home win streak record. The win put them at 19 straight wins in Ornelas Gym and sixth on the year.
Hitting .357 with 44 kills, ETBU had 39 assists and 43 digs. They also held Hendrix to a .079 hitting percentage with 24 total blocks. Hancock and Mosley both had 11 kills. Mosley made it a double-double with 13 digs to lead the team. Humphrey finished with 10 digs. Moody added 16 assists, while Mansell had 15 assists. Hancock and Williamson both had seven blocks.
ETBU travels to California next weekend to play in the California Lutheran Invite.
