LEESBURG, Fla. – Battling the cold front that hit the south and into Florida, the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Bass Fishing team had two boats qualify for the Strike King Bassmaster College National Championships. ETBU sent six boats to the Strike King Bassmaster College Series at Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida for the two-day tournament. Due to the weather, it was shortened to a one-day competition.
Brett Jolley and
Carson Stevens and Trey McMeen and
Dylan Armstrong qualified for the national tournament with their top 15 finishes. Jolley and Stevens came in eighth place, catching five fish for 16 pounds 12 ounces. McMeen and Armstrong came in 11
th with five fish at 16 pounds, one ounce.
Finishing in the top 50 were
Corey Morris and
Brayden Mercer (36
th) and
Dylan Benson and
Zane Stroman. Morris and Mercer caught four fish that weighed 12 pounds and eight ounces. Benson and Stroman finished with two fish for 11 pounds.
Braydon Kelley and
Noah Parrish were 102
nd with four fish at seven pounds and 13 ounces.
Logan Clark and
Hunter Stuckey didn't record a weight but participated in the tournament.
