10/14/2025 4:12:00 PM

MARSHALL, Texas—After a successful weekend back at home, East Texas Baptist University maintains the No. 2 ranking in the nation in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll with 2,059 votes and  five first-place votes. It is the fourth straight week to be No. 2 in the country and the 21st week to be ranked in a row. The five first-place votes are the most in program history.

ETBU swept both matches this past week in Ornelas Gymnasium beating both Centre College and Hendrix College 3-0. The two wins moved to 20-0 as they continue their historic win streak.

This is still the highest ranking in program history. Before this milestone, the Tigers' highest ranking was no. 5, achieved earlier this season. Before this season, the highest any ETBU Volleyball program reached was eighth. ETBU started the season ranked 14th in the preseason and moved into the top 10 in week two at No. 10. Last year, they were in the top 10 for six weeks.

Two teams ETBU has beaten are in the top remain in the top 10: No. 7 Wisconsin-Eau Claire and No. 10 Trinity University. One remains in the top 15:  No. 14 Berry. Northwestern (Minn.) is receiving votes, too.

ETBU will host Centenary and Mary Hardin-Baylor this Tuesday and Friday.
