10/8/2025 3:38:00 PM

MARSHALL, Texas—After a successful weekend in Georgia, East Texas Baptist University maintains the No. 2 national ranking in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Weekly Poll with 2,055 votes, receiving three first-place votes. It is the third straight week to be No. 2 in the country and the 20th week to be ranked in a row.

ETBU won all three matches at the Berry College invite this past weekend, sweeping Covenant and beating No. 14 Berry College in their gym on Friday. They then earned a 3-1 win over Oglethorpe on Saturday.

This continues to be the highest ranking in program history. Before this milestone, the Tigers' highest ranking was No. 5, achieved earlier this season. Last year, the highest ETBU ranking was eighth. ETBU started the season ranked 14th in the preseason and moved into the top 10 in week two at No. 10. Last year, they were in the top 10 for six weeks.

Three teams ETBU has played remain in the top 15: No. 8 Wisconsin-Eau Claire, No. 11 Trinity University, and No. 14 Berry, as Whitworth receives votes.

ETBU will host Centre College and Hendrix College this Thursday and Sunday in Ornelas Gym. The team is back home for the first time since the first week of September.
