BELTON, Texas – On the road for the fourth time in 2025, East Texas Baptist University didn't keep up with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's offensive production falling, 62-14, in Central Texas. ETBU is now 4-4 and 0-4 in the ASC.
ETBU finished with 259 yards of total offense as 208 yards came in the air.
Jaylen Spriggs was 24-of-41 for 208 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.
Kobe Chambers had three receptions for 42 yards and
Kyler Paul and
Vontez Martin had touchdown catches.
Jordan Woodard finished with 42 yards rushing.
Dominick Williams led the defense with five tackles as two were for a loss.
Cole Confessore and
Ramon Singleton both added four tackles.
The Crusaders defense didn't allow ETBU to get into their offensive flow recording six sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. They also scored three special teams touchdowns and had a 31-0 lead into the second quarter. Spriggs found Paul for a 26-yard touchdown at 5:52 in the second quarter to make it 31-7. ETBU's final touchdown came in the fourth quarter with 15 seconds left as Martin caught an 11-yard pass for the final score.
ETBU will host Howard Payne University on Saturday, November 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the final home game of the year.
