ASC CHAMPION | MXC | ETBU's Zarate Wins ASC Championship as Tigers Finish in Third

ABILENE, Texas – East Texas Baptist University's Noah Zarate brought home the 2025 American Southwest Conference Individual Championship as the Tigers finished in third pace the championship meet. Zarate becomes the second ETBU student-athlete to win the ASC Championship following Mack Broussard in 2018.
 
Along with winning the ASC Individual Championship, he was the ASC Freshman of the Year and All-ASC First Team. Jagger Stutchman was named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year and also made the All-ASC First Team while Tyler Jordan was an All-ASC Second Team member.
 
ETBU finished with 55 points behind Mary Hardin-Baylor's 42 and Hardin-Simmons University's 29.
 
Zarate ran a 26:31.47 in the 8K finishing eight seconds better than HSU's Noah Bela for the championship. Stutchman came in seventh place with a time of 27:55.75 and Jordan was 12th with a 29:13.22 to round out the All-ASC runners.
 
Tommy Alford finished in 16th at 30:32.98 as Conrad Deleon was 19th (31:22.21) and Lucas Gonzalez was 20th (34:34.61) finishing the top 20.
 
ETBU will next run at the NCAA Division III West Regional on Nov. 15 in California.
