MARSHALL, Texas - For the fourth time in five years, East Texas Baptist University has received an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American Award. Senior Defensive Lineman
Dominick Williams (Houston, Texas) has earned a spot on the AFCA All-American Second Team for his play this year. He is just one of three American Southwest Conference student-athletes to be an AFCA All-American in 2025.
Williams is the sixth ETBU football student-athlete to be an AFCA All-American, as the Tigers now have nine AFCA All-Americans overall. He joins Chad Glover (2005) as the only ETBU defensive linemen to be named an AFCA All-American. Grady Clay (2023), Jordan Estes (2021, 2022), Richard Johnson (2017, 2018), Glover, and Scott Verhalen (2001, 2002) are ETBU's AFCA All-Americans.
The 2025 ASC Defensive Player of the Year, along with being the ASC Defensive Lineman of the Year, he led the ASC with 10.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss (1.65 per game), was second in total tackles (72), and third in tackles per game (7.2). Along with that, he posted several blocked extra points and one field goal. He is a three-time All-ASC First-Team selection who was on the d3football.com "Team of the Week" in September and earned two ASC Defensive Player of the Week awards.
The 10.5 sacks are tied for the third most in a season for ETBU with Littleton Dean (2003) and C.J. Johnson (2017). He posted four sacks vs. Oklahoma Panhandle State, which is the second-best in a single game, tying Glover (2004) and Darel Johnson (2000), and was 0.5 sacks shy of Johnson's 2017 record. He finishes his career third all-time at ETBU with 21 sacks and posted 146 total tackles and 32 tackles for loss (177 yards).
