MARSHALL, Texas – Finishing the season at the NCAA Division III National Championship Volleyball Tournament, East Texas Baptist University earned a final ranking on No. 5 from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). ETBU has now been ranked for 27 weeks in the AVCA National Poll.
ETBU earned 1,817 points in the final poll for the No. 5 ranking. They were ranked in the top 5 since week three and earned their first-ever No. 1 national ranking in week 11. ETBU defeated five teams in the final Top 25 and had the No. 1 NPI all season.
ETBU finished 34-1 in the Elite 8 and set numerous program records this year including having a 34-match winning streak. They also won their third-straight straight American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship and advanced to the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
