MARSHALL, Texas – Four student-athletes from the East Texas Baptist University Women's Soccer program have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
Keira Coughlin,
Lenah Montes,
Grace Shurley, and
Mallory Duncan earned the award for their classroom work and play on the pitch.
Coughlin is a sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas, that started in 14 matches this season. The defender helped ETBU with seven shutouts on the year. She is majoring in finance/accounting and has a 3.71 GPA.
Montes is a sophomore from Mansfield, Texas, that started in 12 matches season recording two goals and four points along with helping on the seven shutouts as a defender. She is majoring in business administration and has a 3.74 GPA.
Shurley is a sophomore from Shreveport, La., who started 15 matches recording three goals and six points as a forward. She is a sports management major with a 4.0 GPA
Duncan is a senior from Round Rock, Texas, who had four goals and nine points starting 14 matches as a forward. She is a rehabilitative science major with a 3.63 GPA.
To be honored by the CSC, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 grade point average or higher and played in 75% or more of the matches.
