BELTON, Texas – Back on the road in American Southwest Conference play, East Texas Baptist University fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 5-2. ETBU is now 5-5 and 1-2 in the ASC.
ETBU won the doubles point taking the no. 1 and no. 3 matches.
Bailey Smith and
Monique Ybarra won the no. 1 doubles in a tiebreaker, 7-6.
Kristyn Dunn and
Isabelle Duarte then won the no. 3 match, 7-5, to win the point.
Ybarra won the only singles point at no. 2, 6-1, 6-4. Smith had a close match in a loss at no. 1, 7-6, 6-4.
ETBU travels to Jackson, Miss., on Saturday to face Sewanee on a neutral court at 9:00 a.m.
