GULF SHORES, Ala. – Closing the 2025 season with two wins, East Texas Baptist University finished seventh in the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball National Championships. ETBU defeated LaGrange College and Southern Virginia in the consolation bracket.
 
On day one of pool play, ETBU fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Stevenson University, 3-0. That put ETBU in the consolation bracket with LaGrange and Southern Virginia on Saturday.
 
ETBU started Saturday with a 3-0 win over LaGrange. Rylee Crook and Bailee Kitchen won the flight 5 match, 21-12, 21-8, for the first point. Sofia Castillo and Kaiya Haase then took flight 3, 21-13, 21-9 making it 2-0. Earing the win with the third point was Bella Fields and Brooke Nalley in flight 2, 21-19, 21-16.
 
The final match brought a 3-1 win over Southern Virginia. It took three sets for Camille Freeman and Kyleigh Pate to win at Flight 4, 21-17, 13-21, 15-12, for a point. Castillo and Haase took flight 3 in two sets, 21-11., 21-18, making it 2-0. Taylor Parker and Sierra Wendt fell at flight 1, 18-21, 12-21, before Fields and Nalley won flight 2, 22-20, 25-23, to finish off the match.
 
ETBU ends the 2025 season with eight wins and a seventh place finish at the national tournament.
