MARSHALL, Texas – A historic season took place for the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis program winning their first American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship. Along with that, they have earned several post-season awards including two major ASC awards.
Jaco Snyman was named the ASC Newcomer of the Year and
Baptiste Berthier is the ASC Freshman of the Year. From the ASC Tournament,
Max Karseno was the tournament MVP as Berthier,
Sam Black and
BT White were on the All-Tournament team.
White, Berthier, Black, Karseno,
Slade Austin all were named All-ASC first-team. White (Flight 4) and Berthier (Flight 5) were on ASC first-team for singles while Black/Karseno (Flight 1) and White/Austin (Flight 3) are on the doubles first-team.
Synman (Flight 2) and Karseno (Flight 3) earned All-ASC second team in singles and Eric Van Zyle and
Jacob Daniell (Flight 3) made the second team in doubles.
It is the second time for Austin, Van Zyl, and Daniell to be named All-ASC.
ETBU now awaits to see where they will travel to for the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
