AWARD | BB | Five Players Make All-Region Teams for ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas – Five East Texas Baptist University baseball student-athletes have been named All-Region for their 2025 season by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). It is the sixth year in a row that ETBU has produced several players on an All-Region team.
 
Jagger Neely, Ben Lea, Dylan Burnaman, Connor Massamini, and Luke Bumpus earned All-Region status. Lea and Bumpus both were All-Region on D3baseball.com and ABCA. Lea was a D3baseball.com All-Region second teamer for outfield and ABCA All-Region third-team for DH. Bumpus was All-Region third team for the outfield on both teams. Burnaman and Neely made the D3baseball.com All-Region third team and Massimini was on the ABCA All-Region third team.
 
ETBU finished the year 31-16 winning the ASC Tournament Championship and were the NCAA Division III Marshall, Texas Regional runners-up.

Neely overcame early-season injuries to finish the year with 41 strikeouts, a 3.72 ERA, and won three games in 11 appearances. He was named to the All-Region third team by D3baseball.com, was the ASC Tournament MVP, and was an All-ASC first team member. In his career, he has won 18 games and is third in career strikeouts and games pitched. He is a four-time All-ASC selection, a two-time ASC Tournament MVP and All-Region selection, and the 2024 ASC Baseball Distinguished Scholar-Athlete winner.

Lea is on two All-Region teams, adding to his All-ASC second team award. He finished the year batting .370 with 42 RBI and led ETBU with 12 home runs, 60 hits, 13 doubles, and 113 total bases. In the postseason this year, he had three home runs, six RBI, and a batting average of .392 (11-for-28). After sitting out the 2024 season due to an injury, he finishes his career tied first in home runs (40) and is sixth in runs scored (137) and RBI (123). In the 2023 season, he was a D3baseball.com and ABCA All-American first-team member, the ASC Player of the Year, All-Region and All-ASC first-team, and made the NCAA Division III National Championship All-Tournament team.

Burnaman gains back-to-back All-Region awards, making the third team at shortstop. This season was his best, as he started and played in 43 games, accumulating 53 hits, 10 doubles, six home runs, and 32 RBI. He had 17 games with two or more hits and posted a career-high five RBI vs. LeTourneau on April 17. The two-time All-ASC first-team selection was the ASC Hitter of the Week twice and helped ETBU to an ASC Tournament Championship this season, playing in two NCAA Tournaments.

Massimini is now a two-time ABCA All-Region third-team member in the outfield. He batted .309 with 34 hits, five doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, and 32 RBI, starting 31 games and playing in 37. He had two or more hits in 10 games with a career-high three hits, twice. He posted a career-high 6 RBI vs. LeTourneau on April 17 and made the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. The two-time All-ASC second-team member has been the ASC Hitter of the Week twice in his career.
 
Luke Bumpus (OF)

Bumpus made two All-Region teams in his only year at ETBU as a graduate transfer, being named to both the D3baseball.com and ABCA third-team. He was named the ASC Newcomer of the Year and made the All-ASC first-team. As the ASC Hitter of the Week, once, led ETBU with a .408 batting average and 60 hits, tallying 12 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, and 42 RBI. In 19 games, he hit two or more hits four times. He had a 23-game hitting streak from March 7 through April 25.
