MARSHALL, Texas – Finishing the 2024-25 season at the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament, East Texas Baptist University came in fourth of five teams. They also had one student-athlete earn All-ASC and a major award.
Ryan Merrill was named the ASC Newcomer of the Year and finished 25
th at the ASC Championship Tournament. He shot at 239 with a 78-77-84 in the three-day tournament.
Drew Marshall made the ASC All-Tournament team tying for third with a 221. His scores were better every round with a 77, 73, and a 71 in the final round.
At the ASC Championship Tournament, ETBU shot a 908 and was seven strokes back from third place. Their best round came on day one with a 294. They shot a 312 on day two and a 302 in the final round. After Marshall's third place finish,
Hutton Hoelscher rounded out the top 20 in 11
th with a 229 (74-84-71).
Caleb Kesting came in 13
th with a 230 (70-78-82) as his first day was the best shooting a 70.
Truit Steen was then 22
nd with a 237 (73-86-78) as Merrill finished in 25
th.
Tanner Story came in 30
th (88-84-82) to finish the scoring for ETBU.
