CLAREMONT, Calif. – Making it to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Tournament, East Texas Baptist University's season ended in the first round against no. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 4-0. ETBU ends their year at 14-6 as the American Southwest Conference Tournament Champions.
CMS took the doubles point quickly winning at the no. 1 and no. 2 matches.

Max Karseno fell to #16 Caleb Settles and Brand Vu, 6-0.
BT White and Austin Slade dropped the no. 2 match, 6-1, to #12 Advik Mareedu and Josh Kim.
Jacob Daniell and Baptiste Bertier were down, 5-1, at no. 3 when the point was earned by CMS.
Mareedu, the no. 1 player in the nation, gave CMS the 2-0 lead defeating Black, 6-0, 6-0, at no. 1. White then fell at no. 3 singles the eight best West Region player, Matthew Robinson, 6-1, 6-0, for the third point. Settles finished off the match for the 4-0 win over ETBU holding off Slade at no. 6, 6-2, 6-0.
Karseno's no. 5 match was unfinished vs. the #10 region player Tarm Rojanasoonthon, 2-6, 1-5. Berthier, playing at no. 4 singles vs. the ninth best regional player, Josh Kim, lost the first set, 6-1, but was tied 4-4 when the match ended.
Jaco Snyman faced off against #15 Warren Pham at no. 2 singles falling in set one, 6-3, and was down 5-0 at the end.
ETBU's magical season ended with 14 wins and the program's first-ever ASC Tournament Championship and berth into the NCAA Tournament.
