MARSHALL, Texas—As the new 2025 women's soccer season approaches, the American Southwest Conference has released the preseason poll. East Texas Baptist University is picked to finish in fourth place, earning 11 points from the ASC head coaches.
 
ETBU is fourth in the preseason poll as Hardin-Simmons is picked to win the ASC with 29 points. Defenders Mallory Duncan, Keira Coughlin, and midfielder Grace Shurley are on the ASC Players to Watch List. Duncan, Coughlin, and Shurley were all ASC award winners in 2024. Coughlin was named the ASC Defensive Freshman of the Year.
 
Last year, under new head coach Joey Petrich, ETBU went 6-11-1 and 3-5 in the ASC. The new season starts for ETBU on Friday, August 29, in Santa Cruz, Calif., against the University of Chicago.
