SHREVEPORT, La. — Moving on to a historic 12-0, No. 5 East Texas Baptist University went 3-0 against Centenary College.
Graycee Mosley achieved her 60th career double-double as ETBU took the sweep in straight sets, 25-16, 25-2, 25-13, at the Gold Dome on Tuesday. ETBU dominated the match with a .421 hitting percentage and recorded seven service aces and the defense had 45 digs and six total blocks.
The first set saw the Tigers establish early dominance with a decisive 25-16 victory, driven by a robust offensive effort of 19 kills.
Taylor Poore's service pressured Centenary's reception, contributing to the team's singular ace in the set. Although Centenary managed three aces, the Tigers' consistent attack and limited errors ensured control and a strong start to the match.
ETBU dominated the second set, opening with a commanding offensive performance that saw them score 11 kills and six aces.
Callie Humphrey and
McKenzie Mansell led the charge, contributing significantly to the team's early 11-0 run, which set the tone for the set. ETBU maintained its momentum and completed the set with a decisive 25-2 victory.
The Tigers opened the third set with a commanding presence, securing a 25-13 victory and produced three blocks. ETBU maintained control throughout the set, capitalizing on Centenary's six total errors to close out the match decisively.
Mosley led ETBU with 17 kills and added 11 digs, contributing 19.5 points.
Anita Hancock was a key defensive presence, recording five total blocks and six kills on nine attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.
Lexi Moody facilitated the offense with 14 assists and chipped in with three digs.
