MARSHALL, Texas – Going 2-0 over the weekend, East Texas Baptist University earned a weekly American Southwest Conference award for defense.
Ryan Lord has been named the ASC Defensive Player of the Week for his play over Dallas and Ozarks for the second time in his career.
ETBU earned a shutout win over Dallas, 7-0, and came from behind over Ozarks, 2-1, for a 2-0 start.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ryan Lord, GK, So., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist sophomore goalkeeper
Ryan Lord (Fate, Texas) started the year off with a 2-0 record in goal recording a shutout over Dallas. He posted seven saves facing 18 shots with only one goal given up. In the win over Dallas, 7-0, he faced eight shots with four saves. Against Ozarks, he allowed a goal in the sixth minute and then shutout the Eagles in the final 84 minutes. He faced 10 shots with four on goal and three saves. He stopped the tying goal in the 84th minute as ETBU held onto the win.
